God: Indra (Chief of demy Gods).
Metre of the verse: Trisht`hup.
USE : Destroying enemies.
PROCEDURE:The person going to battle should worship the Chief of Demy Gods i.e. Indra. While chanting the verses, clarified butter is to be dropped into the sacrificial fire.
Dry branches/twigs of the undernoted plants are to be used as fuel in the sacrificial pyre. Often this is done, while performing a sacrifice called "Indra Mahaakhya (The famous great Indra sacrifice)"
1) Palasa tree - Botanical name: Butea frondosa.
2) Udumbara tree - " Ficus racemosa.
3) Karkandhu tree - " Ziziphus Nummuluria or Ziziphus Jujuba.

GIST
Let the great protector and prosperous Indra, make the performer of this sacrifice a happy person. Let the omniscient Indra torture the enemies. Let him make us secure. Let Indra make us virile and masterful.
